Entabeni Ravineside Lodge is situated in the malaria-free Waterberg region of the Limpopo province in South Africa. This lodge is built on stilts, hugging the side of a cliff under Entabeni Mountain. A visitor on safari in South Africa will be awestruck by the unrestricted views of ravines and hillsides.

Entabeni Ravineside Lodge has wooden lodges on stilts, each lodge with three or four luxury en suite bedrooms, decorated in a traditional African theme. Ravineside also hosts a large central swimming pool for guests to cool off in. The spa offers a variety of treatments for those who wish to truly unwind during their time in the bush. Weather permitting, dinners are regularly served in the boma with its wonderfully wild ambiance.

Part of the 22 000-hectare Entabeni Safari Conservancy, the lodge has a multitude of activities in which visitors can take part. Game drives in the conservancy will lead to close encounters with the Big Five. Armed and experienced rangers will accompany visitors on bush walks to enable guests to experience the wilderness up close. Balloon safaris offer spectacular bird's eye views of the conservancy, while helicopter rides, paintball, quad bikes, and abseiling will satisfy those with a more adventurous streak,

From O R Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, guests are transferred to the malaria-free Entabeni Safari Conservancy in the colorful Waterberg for their safari. At Ravineside Lodge, activities abound, from comprehensive wilderness encounters on daily game drives and bush walks to additional thrilling enterprises such as abseiling, paintballing, boat cruises and helicopter flights. Handsome picnic sites at Hangklip viewpoint, Boekenhout, Yellowwood and the Hippo Boma enhance afternoon mealtimes.

At the lodge itself, guests can repose beside the sun-spangled lure of the pool, admire the meandering panoramas from the perch of the Entabeni Mountain or dismiss the outside world in the comfortable privacy of their suite's lounge. This safari package also offers guests the opportunity to engage the knowledge of the resident astronomer and discover the mysteries of the southern sky in the Astro Boma.

Riaan's Review

Ravineside Lodge has a grand natural setting against an escarpment with sweeping views of the surrounding bushveld. The lodge is comfortable, but not luxurious. It does offer all basic comforts and I can definitely recommend it as a great option in its class and price range.
