Abalone Hotel & Villas

Abalone House is situated in the small West Coast town of Paternoster, 150km north of Cape Town. Protruding granite outcrops create alluring backdrops as the white stone contrasts the deep blue West Coast water. The well-known Cape Town interior designer David Strauss is responsible for the magnificent feel of the hotel. Modern furnishings have been blended with restored antiques, wooden ceilings, and traditional silverware.

The hotel offers ten exquisitely decorated suites. No effort was spared to make all the suites as comfortable as possible; features such as extra-length beds, deluxe pillows, mohair blankets, and cotton linen make sleeping at Abalone House a treat. All the rooms have en suite bathrooms with baths and showers, heated floors, and heated towel rails. Other amenities include an Italian coffee machine, bar fridge, flat-screen TV, iPod docking station, and a built-in electronic safe.

Since Reuben's Restaurant opened here in October 2013, an unmatched dining experience can be relished. Reuben Riffel combines fresh local ingredients with the latest culinary trends, creating unique and delicious dishes. His fine cuisine includes double-baked snoek soufflé, roasted pork belly with lime and ginger caramel, and malva pudding with buttermilk sherbet. Award-winning wines, single malt whiskeys, and a range of cocktails, including special brandy-inspired cocktails, are available from the bar at Reuben's.
