Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge is located on the 10 000-hectare Imbali concession in the central Kruger National Park. Most clients will fly from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit, from where a road transfer of about an hour and a half will bring guests to the lodge for their safari. It is unique in the fact that it provides both a cultural as well as a wildlife experience, unlike other Kruger National Park safari lodges.
Hoyo Hoyo is constructed in the style of a traditional Tsonga village. All staff at the lodge dress in traditional clothes, which gives the lodge an authentic bygone era atmosphere. Accommodation is provided in six luxury air-conditioned 'bee hive' suites with cylindrical shapes, earth-colored walls and tapered thatch roofs. Each room features an en suite bathroom complete with an antique-style bath and a king-size bed.
The main area consists of a lounge and dining area which is richly decorated in a warm and inviting African theme. The lodge is equipped with a swimming pool, sure to provide a welcome haven on warm summer days during your safari in South Africa. Two game drives are conducted daily by experienced local rangers and trackers from the back of open 4x4 vehicles - a typical Kruger safari activity.
From O R Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, guests will be flown to Hoedspruit and subsequently transferred to Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge in the Kruger National Park for their luxury safari. From guided encounters with the surrounding game in the lodge's 4x4 safari vehicles to optional bush picnics and champagne breakfasts, this safari package in the Kruger Park ensures the ultimate bushveld experience.
Steep yourself in the Tsonga culture through evening interactions with the staff, from singing and dancing displays to tribal stories from the traditional 'nanga' or healer. For deep relaxation, enhance your safari holiday in the lodge's ‘Nomadic Spa' experience in the privacy of your suite. Recline next to the pool or cool off your wares in its nippy basin after a guided bush walk.
