Overview

Bushmans Kloof has won numerous awards over a long period of time. It is a unique ecological destination framed by the impressive Cederberg Mountains - a South African Natural Heritage site where more than 130 Bushman art sites can be appreciated. The reserve is home to 35 species of mammal and over 150 species of birds have been identified here. In spring, the landscape is often transformed to a flowering tapestry by millions of wild flowers that seem to suddenly appear from nowhere. The lodge offers a unique South Africa safari experience within driving distance from Cape Town.

Guests have a choice between the opulence of the Bushmans Kloof Lodge or the private seclusion of Koro Lodge. At the main lodge, guests are accommodated in sixteen well-appointed rooms decorated with magnificent pieces of art. Koro Lodge, a beautifully renovated farmhouse, offers families of up to ten a wonderful private base from which to enjoy the treasures of the Bushmans Kloof Reserve.

When it comes to dining options, you will be spoilt for choice. The Homestead is the most formal of the dining venues on the reserve, where the delights of the chef's d'hote menu offers a selection of specialties each evening. The less formal dining options include Makana, an open-air restaurant, dining under the stars at Embers, the Manor House Deck that offers al fresco dining or Kadoro - a secluded venue where intimate dining blends seamlessly with a wonderful nature experience.

An almost endless list of activities can be enjoyed at Bushmans Kloof. These include guided rock art excursions, botanical tours, game viewing, birdwatching, nature trails and canoeing as well as the opportunity to dip in the crystal clear mountain pools. Those who fancy less adventurous activities are sure to enjoy the glorious spa or the well-stocked library and billiard room.
