Moholoholo Forest Camp is a comfortable four star lodge in the Lowveld region near Kruger.
Close to the Kruger National Park, on the slopes of the majestic Drakensberg Mountains, you will find the four star Moholoholo Forest Camp. The area surrounding the camp is characterized by rain forests and acacia woodland, set against the backdrop of majestic mountains. Various antelope species, giraffe, zebra and a variety of bird species are prominent in the area.
Up to 20 guests can be accommodated in the camp's ten secluded log cabins. Each cabin has its own en suite bathroom and balcony where guests can relax and experience the peace of the forest during their safari in South Africa. The cabins have been built with reeds and have thatched roofs to ensure a feeling of true serenity combined with an African atmosphere. Because the atmosphere created at Moholoholo is one of being close to nature, it was decided not to include televisions and telephones in the rooms.
Moholoholo Forest Camp has a thatched dining room where sumptuous meals are served. Alternatively, enjoy a delicious meal around a log fire in the reed boma. Tea and coffee with snacks are available 24 hours a day. Overlooking a waterhole and the forest, the camp has a verandah where guests can sit quietly waiting for animals to come and quench their thirst. Listen to the songs of a wide variety of bird life while viewing birds and other animals from the hide at the main waterhole.
Guests on a South African safari at Moholoholo can visit the rehabilitation center that contributes to the conservation of endangered species. They care for orphaned and injured animals, nursing them back to health before returning them to the wild. Other activities on offer include river rafting and boat cruises on the Blyde River dam. Because the lodge is so close to the Kruger National Park, guests can easily go for a game drive in the park during the daytime, and return to the lodge in the evening.
If a rustic and intimate, small camp that provides a very unique experience is what you are after, then you will enjoy a stay at Moholoholo. A walking safari and a visit to the rehabilitation center are amongst the safari activities that can be enjoyed at Moholoholo. This camp features in the Southern African Adventure Tour offered by African Sky. The accommodations are very comfortable. Though not luxurious, the setting is grand and the activities in the area will ensure a couple of days well spent on your safari or tour.Read More
