Location & Setting

Leroo La Tau sits on the western bank of Botswana’s Boteti River, overlooking the western boundary of Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. From its cliff-top vantage, decks and a riverside hide scan floodplains where zebra, wildebeest, elephants and predators gather as water draws life to the river, especially in the dry months. The area blends Kalahari scrub, riverine woodland and open flats, creating striking contrasts for photography and wildlife behavior. Access is typically by light aircraft from Maun, then a short transfer to camp, or by 4x4 road transfer via Khumaga.

Rooms

The lodge features 12 thatched, air-cooled chalets/suites raised on timber platforms for views over the Boteti. Interiors pair clean safari lines with comfortable beds, en-suite bathrooms with hot showers and flush toilets, and sliding doors to private decks for armchair game-watching. Neutral tones and natural textures keep attention on the river, while practical touches—charging points, tea/coffee and thoughtful lighting—support early starts and relaxed afternoons. A two-bedroom family unit is typically available on request; please confirm current configuration and child policies when booking.

Facilities

Central spaces include a lounge and dining area opening to wide decks with panoramic river views, plus a main swimming pool for cooling off between activities. A photographic/game-viewing hide near the water allows eye-level encounters as animals come to drink. Meals feature fresh, hearty fare served indoors or al fresco, and longer stays can be tailored to include signature experiences such as Nxai Pan day trips and seasonal salt-pan sleep-outs. Boating is offered when the Boteti is flowing; activity timing follows prime wildlife hours morning and late afternoon.
