Sausage Tree Safari Camp

Sausage Tree Safari Camp is located in the Olifants West sector of the Balule Nature Reserve, part of the unfenced Greater Kruger ecosystem. The camp is set among mature sausage trees and knobthorn woodland, overlooking a seasonal riverbed that regularly attracts elephant and plains game. Elevated wooden decks offer long, uninterrupted views toward the distant Drakensberg escarpment. Access is convenient via Hoedspruit Airport (HDS), followed by a short road transfer to the Olifants West Gate. It is a scenic, wildlife-rich area ideal for immersive but unfussy safari experiences.

The camp offers just five elevated tented suites, designed for privacy and immersion in nature rather than excess. Each features timber floors, canvas walls, king-size beds, and en-suite bathrooms with both indoor and outdoor showers. Soft linens, small design touches, and locally inspired décor create a refined yet relaxed atmosphere. Private decks invite quiet moments at sunrise or sunset as wildlife moves through the surrounding bush. The layout and limited guest capacity ensure a personal and unhurried safari experience, ideal for couples or slower-paced travelers seeking intimacy over scale.
