Booking Procedure

The steps in the procedure by which safaris and tours are normally booked with African Sky Safaris & Tours are detailed below. Operating since 1998 and bonded through SATSA, African Sky is a direct operator—not an agent—offering protected payments, clear documentation, and end-to-end support from quotation to arrival.

1

Step 1 - Official Quotation

If you are interested in one of our services or would like us to send you a custom proposal based on your requirements, please complete the request form provided on the Contact Us page. We will then send you an official, no-obligation quotation based on your request shortly after receiving your inquiry.

2

Step 2 - Acceptance of Quotation

In our correspondence with you, we may suggest numerous proposals until you are happy with the details provided in a specific quotation. You may then e-mail us confirming that you are happy with the quotation and would like to book the services offered.

3

Step 3 - Reservation Confirmation

African Sky Safaris & Tours will then send you a Reservation Confirmation after we have booked the necessary accommodations and other services. The Reservation Confirmation serves as written proof of the services that you have purchased from African Sky Safaris & Tours. You will not receive any documentation via physical mail.

Along with the Reservation Confirmation, you will receive a secure online payment link to pay the required 20% deposit. Alternatively, you may complete an electronic funds transfer directly to our bank account, with banking details included in the Reservation Confirmation.

4

Step 4 - Final Payment

The final payment for your safari or tour is required 45 days prior to the starting date. African Sky will send a secure online payment link for your convenience. You may also choose to complete an electronic funds transfer to our bank account if preferred.

5

Step 5 - Arrival

Upon arrival in South Africa, you will be met at the airport by an African Sky Safaris & Tours representative, holding a sign with your name on it. If, for any reason, you do not immediately see your representative, a cell phone number is provided on the Reservation Confirmation which can be used to contact our Operations Manager. The representative will provide you with a file containing the Reservation Confirmation you received via e-mail, as well as all necessary vouchers.

From here onward you are in the care of an experienced guide if you have booked a guided safari or tour. If you have booked a self-drive, the representative will review the itinerary and route with you.

Booking Concerns

Concerns that are from time to time raised by potential clients. If your question is not addressed or answered here, kindly email your inquiry so that we may deliver a detailed response to your specific query.

How do I know African Sky Safaris & Tours is a reputable company?

African Sky Safaris & Tours is a member of the Southern African Tourism Services Association (SATSA), an industry organization that bonds and protects our clients’ advance payments against insolvency. We have been in operation since 1998. Should you require a reference, we can also send you the contact details of clients who have traveled with us in the past, who can bear testimony to the quality of our services.

How is my payment protected?

We are merchants for VISA, MasterCard and American Express. Any payment made to us by credit card carries the standard insurance of the credit card company. Being bonded members of SATSA, any deposit is protected in the event of insolvency.

Should I not rather book through an agent in my own country?

African Sky Safaris & Tours is not a travel agent. We operate the tours we offer, and you will be dealing directly with the company responsible for all physical aspects of your safari or tour, including reservations, entrance fees, guides, transportation, and regional flights. We are based in South Africa and have, over the years, acquired extensive knowledge of Southern Africa. In most cases, we will be able to provide better advice to potential travelers than some agents who have never even been to our subcontinent.
