Highlights & What to Expect

  • Exclusive scale: just four tents, including a two-bedroom family suite ideal for private, unhurried safaris.
  • Big-game focus: excellent dry-season elephant and buffalo sightings, with frequent lion, leopard, and African wild dog encounters.
  • Day & night game drives in a private concession bordering Chobe National Park; off-road and after-dark viewing permitted.
  • Guided walking safaris reveal tracks, birdlife, and the smaller wonders often missed from a vehicle.
  • Seasonal water activities: mokoro and boating offered when flood levels allow on nearby channels and lagoons.
  • Serious birding across varied habitats—marsh, woodland, and riverine forest—supporting raptors, bee-eaters, and herons.
  • Camp downtime with a plunge pool, viewing deck, and fire circle for star-spangled dinners and storytelling.

Location & Setting

Linyanti Ebony rests within Botswana’s private Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, a wild buffer west of Chobe National Park famed for sweeping floodplains, riverine woodland, and mopane forest. The camp overlooks the Linyanti River system, a dry-season magnet for elephant and buffalo, while predators patrol the marsh edge. Being on a private concession enables flexible activity timings and after-dark drives not allowed in national parks. Access is typically by light aircraft from Maun or Kasane to a nearby airstrip, followed by a short game-drive transfer—your first chance to meet the reserve’s prolific wildlife.

Rooms

With only four tented suites—one a two-bedroom family unit—Linyanti Ebony feels genuinely personal. Canvas-and-thatch structures sit on raised wooden decks, angled for views across the floodplain. Interiors blend classic safari textures with practical comforts: quality beds, bedside lighting, ample storage, and en-suite bathrooms with flushing toilets and hot showers. Each tent opens to a private veranda for arm-chair game viewing between activities. Air cooling and ceiling fans help on warmer afternoons, while thoughtful touches—charging points, tea/coffee trays, and soft furnishings—make the space as restful as it is close to nature.

Facilities

The heart of camp is an elevated, open-sided main area combining lounge, dining space, bar, and a broad viewing deck that spills out to a convivial fire circle. A small plunge pool offers welcome relief in the heat of the day, with uninterrupted looks onto the floodplain. Meals mix regional flavors and fresh ingredients, served communally or privately on request. The guiding team anchors the experience—planning flexible activities around wildlife movements and guest interests. Low-impact build and materials maintain a light footprint while keeping the comforts today’s travelers expect on a premium tented safari.
