Location & Setting

Grootbos Forest Lodge occupies a tranquil ridge within the private Grootbos Nature Reserve near Gansbaai, overlooking Walker Bay and the surrounding mountains. The setting blends ancient milkwood forests with diverse fynbos, creating year-round color and abundant birdlife. It’s an easy coastal escape from Cape Town, ideally positioned for land-based whale watching in season and marine adventures on the nearby shoreline.

Sixteen contemporary suites are designed for privacy and immersion in nature, each with floor-to-ceiling glass, a spacious lounge, en-suite bathroom with separate tub and shower, and an outdoor deck framing forest and ocean views.
