The David Livingstone overlooks the majestic Zambezi River minutes from the Victoria Falls.
The David Livingstone Safari Lodge is a magnificent two-story lodge on the banks of the Zambezi River. The lodge is situated not far from the Zambian town of Livingstone. The misty cloud sent up by the thundering waters of Victoria Falls is visible from the lodge as it is only 4km upstream from the natural wonder. The waterfall is a must-see whilst on a safari in Africa.
This prestigious Zambian safari lodge provides accommodation in 72 river-facing rooms and five luxury suites that host Jacuzzis. Decorated in raw textures with stone, wood and clay and the richness of gold, bronze, copper and ivory hues, the lodge maintains an aura of luxury. Guests may enjoy a sundowner on their room's own private patio which overlooks the breathtaking Zambezi River. The rooms are all en suite and air-conditioned.
The David Livingstone offers guests a variety of facilities, including babysitting, shuttle services, a sparkling swimming pool, internet access, a Nature Center and a curio shop. The lodge's Ujiji Bar has skilled bartenders who concoct delectable signature cocktails and serve a fine selection of both international and South African wines.
Unwind in the aroma of fragrant massage oils in the Camelot Spa with pampering therapeutic treatments or relax in the sparkling pool with views of the river. Dine in style in the Kalai Restaurant, on the pool deck or at the Gwembe Terrace with its excellent view of the magnificent surroundings. For a more unique dining experience, take a cruise on the Lady Livingstone, the lodge's own river cruiser.
The David Livingstone Safari Lodge is a relatively new lodge that offers four star accommodation a stone's throw from Victoria Falls. In my opinion, the style and decor of the hotel creates a fine safari ambiance. I have visited this hotel on numerous occasions, but have never spent a night there. Clients of African Sky who have stayed at the David Livingstone have rated the experience well, both in terms of service and lodging. I much prefer the David Livingstone to the Zambezi Sun, which is only fractionally less expensive.Read More
