Highlights & What to Expect

Excursions to Sossusvlei and Deadvlei are the main drawcards in the area.
Various activities can be booked at the lodge. These include sundowner and nature drives, hot-air balloons, and scenic flights.
An excursion to Sesriem Canyon is always a highlight. The Tsauchab River has carved this canyon with rock formations over millions of years.
Outdoor dinners are an excellent and romantic way of savoring a lantern-lit meal in natural surroundings.

Location & Setting

Desert Camp is approximately five kilometers from the entrance gate to the Namib-Naukluft National Park. This setting makes it ideal for exploring nearby Sossusvlei. It is a drive of just four hours from both Windhoek and Swakopmund. Regional Charter Flights are available to local airstrips.

Rooms

Twenty eight eco-friendly, stand-alone units under canvas, each with an en suite bathroom, BBQ facility, shaded verandah, and kitchenette, provide the accommodation at Desert Camp. Those fortunate enough to visit this part of Namibia will surely find the emptiness and endless open spaces a spiritual experience in nature.

Facilities

Facilities found at the main building include a fully stocked bar, a big-screen TV, and an inviting swimming pool. Adjacent to the main building, two bomas provide the ideal dinner venue. The night sky is dotted with billions of stars that seem closer and more imposing than at almost any other location in Southern Africa.
