Desert Camp

Desert Camp is ideally positioned just 5 kilometers from the main entrance gate to the Namib-Naukluft National Park, offering guests the best possible access to the dunes of Sossusvlei and Sesriem Canyon for sunrise explorations. Set under ancient camelthorn trees, the camp provides an unrivaled 360-degree view of the surrounding desert plains and mountains. Its proximity to the **nearby** Sossus Oasis Service Station ensures easy access to fuel, groceries, and supplies, making it the perfect affordable and functional base for self-drivers exploring the iconic Namib Desert.

The camp consists of 28 individual self-catering units, designed as spacious, stand-alone bungalows. Each unit provides affordable accommodation featuring a large bedroom with twin beds and a fold-out sleeper couch (suitable for two small children). For guest convenience, each unit is en-suite and comes equipped with a shaded veranda that includes a fitted kitchenette, an under-counter fridge, and a private BBQ facility. This layout allows guests to enjoy the tranquility and spectacular desert views right from their patio while maintaining the flexibility of self-catering.

The main building at Desert Camp serves as the central hub for socializing and relaxation. On-site facilities include a refreshing swimming pool and a fully stocked, serviced bar area featuring a big-screen TV and comfortable seating. Wi-Fi access is available only at the bar and pool area. For groups, two communal boma areas are provided with cooking and wash-up facilities, perfect for sharing stories around a campfire. Guests can book meals at the nearby Sossusvlei Lodge Restaurant or arrange activities, such as guided excursions and scenic flights, through the neighboring Sossusvlei Lodge Adventure Centre.
