The area is renowned for its high leopard population. Sightings of this most elusive and majestic cat species occur regularly at Arathusa.

Location & Setting

Arathusa Safari Lodge is in the northwestern part of the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve. The lodge overlooks an expansive waterhole attracting many animals and affording guests exceptional wildlife sightings from rooms and the lodge's central areas. Arathusa can be reached from Hoedspruit Airport via the Gowrie Entrance Gate to Sabi Sand.

Rooms

The lodge has ten standard thatched roof chalets, all facing the waterhole. Four newly built luxury rooms are also available. All rooms are en suite with indoor and outdoor showers and a separate bathtub. The chalets have air conditioning, mosquito nets, electronic safes, and tea/coffee-making facilities. The luxury rooms feature a private splash pool.

Facilities

Guests may enjoy a book or socialize in the main living area. Guests may cool off in the lodge's infinity pool on hot summer afternoons. Breakfast and lunch are served in the dining room, while dinners are enjoyed under starry skies in the boma, with a crackling log fire and wilderness soundtrack. A spa adds to the incredible safari experience available at Arthusa. Guests may relish a pampering session by two qualified therapists who will ensure that the treatments contribute to a sense of relaxation and well-being.
