Location & Setting
Arathusa lies in the northwestern sector of the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve and overlooks a broad waterhole that attracts regular wildlife activity. The lodge is typically accessed via Hoedspruit Airport with road transfers through Gowrie Gate; self-drivers must use this gate. Sabi Sand is a private, unfenced neighbor to Kruger National Park, enabling excellent sightings and off-road tracking under strict guiding protocols.

The lodge offers 13 thatched suites: nine water-facing near the main area and four bush-facing set slightly apart for added privacy. All suites are en suite with indoor and outdoor showers, a separate bathtub, air-conditioning, mosquito nets, an electronic safe, and tea and coffee facilities. Bush-facing suites include a private splash pool; water-facing suites trade the plunge pool for views of the waterhole.
