Seasoned rangers and trackers lead daily safaris on open 4x4 vehicle game drives. These professionals also conducted walks into the wilderness shortly after breakfast.

Location & Setting

The camp overlooks the Sand River and the Kruger National Park bushveld on the river's eastern bank. It lies between the Sabi Sand and the national park, with one of the finest settings of any South African lodge. Mala Mala is accessible from Skukuza Airport and has a short transfer via Shaw's entry gate to the Sabi Sand.

Rooms

The camp accommodates guests in eight luxury suites, ten luxury rooms, and one single room. Rooms feature his and her bathroom, minibar, min-safe, and air-conditioning. Each room is tastefully decorated in an African theme. The camp and all its rooms have been designed to appreciate the surrounding wilderness area.

Facilities

The main lodge complex features a lounge, viewing deck, and a bar area with many photos depicting the lodge's long history. It opened for business in the 1960s and has since provided international visitors with luxury accommodation and some of the finest game-viewing on the African continent. Mala Mala Main Camp offers a swimming pool and a large boma where dinners are enjoyed on some evenings.
