Location & Setting

Idube Game Lodge lies in the central Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, an unfenced neighbor of Kruger National Park famed for close-up predator viewing. Access is typically via Skukuza or Nelspruit (MQP) airports, followed by a road transfer through Newington Gate. The lodge’s shaded grounds and surrounding riverine thickets draw regular antelope, while nearby open areas offer classic Sabi Sand big-cat country.

Rooms

Accommodation comprises nine comfortable safari chalets and two larger Makubela Suites. Chalets feature air-conditioning, fans, tea/coffee facilities, private decks, and renovated en-suite bathrooms with both shower and bath—plus outdoor showers for a bush feel. The interleading Makubela Suites sit in a quieter pocket away from the main areas and add generous lounges, expansive decks, and private plunge pools—ideal for couples or honeymooners.

Facilities

Central spaces include a relaxed lounge and bar, dining areas, a library, a small gym, and a pool for cooling off between drives. Elevated decks overlook visiting nyala and warthog, while evenings often move to the boma for fireside dinners. Cuisine is varied and accommodating of preferences with prior notice, and in-room spa treatments can be arranged for additional downtime.
