Mombo Camp

Mombo occupies a privileged position on Chief’s Island within Botswana’s Moremi Game Reserve, the heart of the Okavango Delta. The camp is raised on wooden decks amid mature mangosteen and fig trees, looking across open floodplains where wildlife frequently wanders past. Access is by light aircraft to the Mombo airstrip, followed by a short game-drive transfer. Being inside a national reserve protects the habitat and concentrates game, while also shaping the activity style—no night drives or boating—so the focus remains on exceptional, unhurried daytime viewing in a pristine, strictly conserved wilderness.

Mombo hosts a maximum of twenty guests in nine spacious canvas-and-timber suites, including one family unit. Each suite is elevated and connected by walkways, with sliding glass, a generous bedroom and lounge, and an expansive private deck with a private plunge pool facing the plains. Bathrooms are indulgent, with both indoor and outdoor showers; thoughtful touches—fans, charging points and Wi-Fi—add modern comfort while preserving a light footprint. Décor blends natural textures with contemporary African design so the interiors feel refined yet rooted in place, and wide views from each veranda keep you connected to the passing wildlife throughout the day.

The central spaces include a stylish lounge, bar and dining areas set on broad decks for relaxed, alfresco meals between drives. A purpose-built photographic hide provides intimate, ground-level perspectives with minimal disturbance to animals.
