Linyanti Expeditions

Linyanti Expeditions sits within a private concession of the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve in northern Botswana, bordering vast floodplains fed by the Linyanti River and the Savute Channel system. The landscape blends open grasslands, riverine forest, and mopane woodland that attract wildlife through the seasons, with especially large elephant concentrations in the dry months. Access is typically by light aircraft to a nearby airstrip from Maun or Kasane, followed by a game-drive transfer into camp. The remote setting, far from public routes, ensures low traffic, exceptional wilderness atmosphere, and dark skies ideal for stargazing around the evening fire.

The camp comprises six spacious, walk-in canvas tents that balance classic expedition style with considered comforts. Each tent includes proper beds with quality linens, bedside lighting, storage, and an en-suite bathroom with flushing loo and bucket or plumbed shower (per seasonal setup). Canvas walls and open fronts promote airflow and immersion in the natural soundtrack, while private verandas face the floodplain for relaxed wildlife watching between activities. Décor favors natural textures and neutral tones that sit lightly on the landscape, reinforcing the camp’s low-impact ethos and deliberately simple, close-to-nature feel.

The social heart of camp is an open-sided lounge and dining area raised on a wooden deck, where meals are freshly prepared and shared family-style. A central firepit hosts pre- and post-dinner gatherings, ideal for stargazing and debriefing sightings with your guides. Charging points are typically available in the main area (power is generator or solar supported), and tea, coffee, and a selection of beverages are served throughout the day. True to its expedition character, the camp is intentionally simple—there is no swimming pool—keeping focus squarely on time in the field and the surrounding wilderness.
