  • Spa treatments and flexible dining, from cellar dinners to private deck set-ups.

Location & Setting

Little Kulala stands within the private Kulala Wilderness Reserve on the edge of Namib-Naukluft National Park. An exclusive-use gate gives direct access to Sossusvlei and Deadvlei, avoiding peak queues at Sesriem. Arrive by charter to the nearby airstrip or drive on good gravel routes from Windhoek or Swakopmund. Open vistas take in ochre dunes and the Naukluft Mountains, while the camp’s low, sand-toned architecture blends into the desert, ensuring dark, starry nights and a quiet, remote feel. Cool Atlantic breezes occasionally temper summer heat, but days are typically clear and dry.

Rooms

Eleven climate-controlled villas pair canvas, stone and thatch with floor-to-ceiling desert views. Each has a private plunge pool, indoor and outdoor showers, a shaded deck and a rooftop sleep-out platform for Milky Way viewing. Interiors use pale timber and natural textures, with generous beds, charging points, tea and coffee, a minibar and a safe. One family unit suits parents with children. Thoughtful lighting and effective cooling make early starts effortless, while turndown and same-day laundry keep things fresh between dune adventures and relaxed afternoons at your pool.

Facilities

The main lodge gathers a library, lounge, bar and dining spaces around a reed-screened pool, with a wine cellar and small boutique adding sense of place. A resident therapist offers massages and other spa treatments, either at the spa room or privately on your deck. Dining is flexible—al fresco breakfasts, shaded lunches and candlelit dinners—with private set-ups arranged on request. Activities include guided nature drives and walks on the reserve, plus e-biking and quad-biking; sunrise hot-air ballooning and scenic flights are booked with trusted partners. Evenings end with superb stargazing.
