Location & Setting

The guest house is on a private 16-hectare estate at the foot of the Langeberg Mountains within walking distance of Swellendam town center. The area surrounding Swellendam is home to the Bontebok National Park; the stunning De Hoop Nature Reserve, only 45 minutes away, is a must-visit destination when staying in Swellendam.

Rooms

Gaikou Lodge accommodates guests in two family villas and eight luxury double rooms. The family villas have two bedrooms, one with a King and the other with two singles. Both rooms are ensuite. The eight luxury rooms are open-plan with high ceilings and a small sitting area. All rooms are air-conditioned, and beds are draped only in the finest linen.

Facilities

Central areas have beautiful mountain views. The spacious lounge, dining room, and bar area walk to a viewing deck. There is a large swimming pool with sun loungers, an ideal reprieve on hot summer days. The estate offers hiking trails, picnic spots, fishing, and excellent birding opportunities.
