The Palace is a sprawling five star hotel in South Africa's thrilling Sun City resort.
The inspiration behind the amazing Palace Hotel was derived from an old legend about an ancient North African civilization that had built a palace that was then destroyed by an earthquake. The Palace Hotel is built on a hill, with a commanding view of the valley in which the Sun City Resort is located. It is conveniently situated next to the Pilanesberg National Park, where guests of the hotel can experience game drives in search of Africa's legendary Big Five.
The hotel is set in landscaped tropical gardens, with an abundance of water features and art which was created specifically to enhance the theme of the hotel. It is a fine five star hotel, with 315 rooms of which 55 are family rooms. The hotel also boasts 16 suites. Every room and suite is en suite and equipped with all you would expect from a luxury hotel.
The public areas are expansive and lavishly decorated. The hotel has several indoor and outdoor restaurants and a range of bars and lounges where guests can relax. No detail has been overlooked to create a very impressive, stylish and unique luxury hotel. A feature which is sure to draw attention is the life-size elephant Shawu, sculpted in bronze, who commands the central courtyard. A massive swimming pool and cocktail bar is a popular feature during the hot summer months.
The Sun City Resort offers almost every entertainment option one can imagine. Both adults and children are exceptionally well catered for. From two of South Africa's finest championship golf courses to the Valley of Waves (one of the most cleverly developed water parks in the world, complete with a beach and palm trees), every guest is ensured an exciting holiday experience.
The Palace Hotel is impressive and luxurious. It is not one of my favorite places, though - I believe there to be much better places to experience the real South Africa. The hotel is built around a legend that is fake, and everything about it is artificial. If, however, you enjoy these types of resorts, you will not be disappointed when staying at the Palace. You can expect fine five star accommodation, fine dining and a host of different entertainment options to choose from. Golfers will definitely find the two championship golf courses at Sun City alluring.Read More
