Augusta Bay is a golf-oriented five star guest house that overlooks the sparkling Knysna Lagoon.
Augusta Bay is situated in Knysna, on the eastern side of the Knysna Heads. The steep cliffs that rise out of the Indian Ocean on either sides of the Knysna estuary mouth form the Knysna Heads. The Heads are one of the best-known features along the South African coastline; mind-blowingly beautiful, but also extremely dangerous. They have become the final resting place of many vessels attempting to navigate the narrow opening into the lagoon. Other features that make Knysna a sought-after destination are the spectacular Outeniqua Mountains and the lush indigenous forests.
Augusta Bay has seven generously sized en suite rooms, divided into two Standard Rooms, three Deluxe Rooms, one Family Suite, and a Premium Suite. All the units - except the Standard Rooms -have exceptional views across the lagoon. The Family Suite and one of the Deluxe Rooms are double units with both king and queen size beds, while all the other units have one king size bed. The expansive Premium Suite even boasts its own lounge and a marvelous 270-degree view over the estuary and heads, making it perfect for honeymooners. All the rooms have WiFi, air-conditioning, a bar fridge, tea and coffee facilities, underfloor heating, and satellite television.
At Augusta Bay, guests have a choice between an English or Continental breakfast. Lunch and dinner are not formally served, but can be arranged on request. You can even order a ‘Lunch Box’ if you know you’ll be out enjoying excursions during mealtimes. The restaurant will also cater to special dietary requirements if the need exists. There are numerous hiking trails around Augusta Bay, and a pool and bar - both with incomparable views - on the premises for the relaxed holidaymaker. Other activities that can be enjoyed in the area are: snorkeling, horse riding, diving, cycling, canoeing and fishing. Knysna is also hosts two world-class golf courses. The spectacular location of Augusta Bay makes for the perfect holiday destination.
