Relish a lavish safari journey from the fertile banks of the Chobe River to the Kruger's primordial wild folds.
Guests will be met and welcomed on arrival at O.R. Tambo International in Johannesburg and assisted with a transfer to a local flight bound for the Sabi Sand Game Reserve - the first destination of the 16 Day Best of Kruger and Botswana Honeymoon. At Sabi Sand, honeymooners are welcomed and transferred to Lion Sands Ivory Lodge where they will be accommodated in an ultra-luxurious suite which includes an en suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers, a private lounge and a plunge pool. Guests may enjoy breathtaking views over the Sabie River, a setting where game viewing may be enjoyed from the luxury of one's private suite. Two game drives and a game walk are included daily and are conducted by experienced resident rangers and trackers. Guests spend four nights at Lion Sands Ivory Lodge on a full board basis.
A last morning game activity and breakfast are followed by a transfer to the local airstrip and a flight to Johannesburg. Guests are met at the airport and are transferred to the Balalaika Hotel in Sandton for an overnight stay. Guests have a choice of two top quality in-house restaurants or may choose to venture out into Mandela Square where many sidewalk cafes, fine dining restaurants and some 93 exclusive shops may be found.
Breakfast is followed by a transfer to O R Tambo and from there a flight to Livingstone. Guests will be met on arrival at Livingstone Airport and transferred to their hotel on the edge of the Zambezi River. From the forested banks of the hotel gardens, honeymooners will be able to see the spray of the Victoria Falls, rising like a cloud across the bushveld and throwing rainbows hundreds of feet into the air. The hotel is a serene refuge from the heat of the African sun and will immerse guests in the romance and style of a bygone era. Meals may be taken indoors under softly lit chandeliers, or on the veranda where the cool river breeze gently stirs the night air. Special dinners under star-studded skies may be arranged for the honeymooners. During the afternoon, visit the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, a World Heritage Site overlooking the mighty Victoria Falls, where honeymooners will have the opportunity to view the falls from various vantage points and explore the African curio market outside the park. Guests spend three nights at the Royal Livingstone.
After three nights of colonial-style luxury, the honeymoon couple will, following a last breakfast, be transferred to the Chobe National Park in Botswana. Guests will enjoy a stay at Chobe Chilwero, an enchanting place with breathtaking vistas over the Chobe floodplains.
In Chobe guests will come face to face with the remarkable creatures of the bush and some of the most spectacular sunsets mother nature has to offer. Three nights are spent at Chobe Chilwero. The honeymoon couple will enjoy two Chobe National Park safaris each day. These safaris will alternate between open 4x4 game drives in the national park and water-based game viewing from the Chobe River. The safaris are led by skilled local rangers and trackers.
After breakfast, honeymooners fly from a local airstrip to Eagle Island Lodge, set in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Eagle Island Lodge is situated in a small patch of secluded paradise hidden from the world by the untamed wilderness. The lodge is located on the island of Xaxaba and is surrounded by Ilala palms. It overlooks a lagoon fed by the tranquil waterways of the Okavango Delta. Here honeymooners will enjoy exceptionally high quality wildlife viewing with prolific birdlife and mammal sightings. Eagle Island is also the venue for one of the most romantic bars in the world; the Fish Eagle Bar, where game viewing may be enjoyed while dining al fresco. The camp offers a cool retreat from the African sun and is shaded by a canopy of indigenous trees.
Guests spend four nights at Eagle Island Lodge on a full board basis. Two game activities are conducted daily by experienced rangers and trackers. These alternate between guided safari walks and water-based mokoro canoe game viewing.
A last morning game activity is followed by breakfast, after which guests board a light charter to Maun and from there an onward flight to Johannesburg. Guests are met on arrival at O.R. Tambo International in Johannesburg. From here guests are transferred to any location of their choice in either Johannesburg or Pretoria or assisted with check-in to a flight back to their country of origin after a memorable 16 Day Best of Kruger and Botswana Honeymoon.
