10 Day Vic Falls & Botswana Honeymoon

Guests are met at O. R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg and assisted onto a flight to Victoria Falls, where your honeymoon officially begins. On arrival you are transferred upstream along the Zambezi River to Victoria Falls River Lodge, set within Zimbabwe’s 56,000-hectare Zambezi National Park. Here you immediately feel the romance of the river, with the distant spray of the Falls on the horizon and wildlife often visible from the boat transfer or lodge decks.

Your luxury air-conditioned tented suite opens onto a private deck with plunge pool, creating a secluded retreat surrounded by birdsong. After a final breakfast on the Zambezi, you travel by road across the border into Botswana and onward to Chobe National Park, arriving at Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero. The lodge is perched on a hilltop overlooking the Chobe River floodplain, offering sweeping views across the islands and channels toward Namibia. Your spacious suite and tranquil gardens provide an indulgent base, perfectly suited to honeymooners seeking comfort, privacy and warm personal service between activities.

Each day you alternate between boat cruises on the Chobe River and open-vehicle game drives in the park, which is renowned for very large herds of elephant and buffalo as well as lion, hippo and prolific birdlife. From Kasane you board a light aircraft bound for the Okavango Delta, watching the channels and palm-dotted islands appear below as you approach Kanana Camp. This intimate tented camp lies on a private concession along the Xudum River in the southwest Delta, combining both water- and land-based activities. After settling into your canvas suite overlooking the floodplains, enjoy the gentle sounds of frogs, birds and distant hippo as the sun sets over the wetlands.

During your three-night stay you explore the Delta by traditional mokoro, motorboat and 4x4, following tracks for lion or wild dog on game drives and drifting quietly past pods of hippo and grazing red lechwe in the channels. Walking safaris on the islands reveal smaller details of this UNESCO-listed ecosystem, while the optional sleep-out deck offers the chance to spend a night beneath the stars. After breakfast you bid farewell to the Kanana team and board a light aircraft charter to Maun, gaining a spectacular aerial perspective of the Okavango’s labyrinth of waterways, islands and lagoons as you climb away from camp.

On arrival in Maun you connect with your onward flight to Johannesburg, where your African Sky representative can assist with international departures or additional arrangements.
