Relish lavish lodgings and sheer natural splendor on a honeymoon that seamlessly blends safari magic with the drama of Vic Falls.
Guests will be met and welcomed on arrival at O R Tambo International in Johannesburg and assisted with a transfer to a flight bound for Livingstone - the true starting point of the 10 Day Vic Falls and Botswana Honeymoon. Guests are met at Livingstone Airport and are transferred to River Club Lodge on the banks of the Zambezi River.
Here guests enjoy luxury that reminds one of a bygone era in a very tranquil setting. Three nights are spent at this beautiful and secluded lodge where guests get in touch with the wilderness of Africa on game drives, nature trails, boat cruises and island walks. A visit it is made to the Victoria Falls, one of the greatest natural spectacles in Africa.
The luxury thatched chalets of River Club are completely open-fronted, offering stunning views of the mighty Zambezi below. The chalets are situated far apart, ensuring absolute privacy. All chalets have a four poster bed and sunken bath tub contributing to the romance of the rooms. As the location is situated opposite Zimbabwe's Zambezi National Park, hippos, elephants and various forms of bird life may be seen (and heard) as they go about their daily lives. Guests spend three nights at River Club on a full board basis with two activities included on a daily basis.
The honeymooners enjoy a hearty breakfast served outside on the veranda, after which they are transferred to the Chobe National Park in Botswana. The duration of the transfer is approximately one and a half hours.
The next three evenings are spent at the luxurious Chobe Chilwero, known for its remarkable views of the Chobe National Park. The lodge’s warm African accents and sumptuous details make it the ideal honeymoon destination in Chobe. Two game activities are included daily, which alternate between cruising on the Chobe River among bathing elephant and hippo to exploring the wild nooks and crannies of the park in a 4x4 vehicle.
Romantic high tea is served on the lawns and delectable meals are lovingly prepared by the lodge's expert culinary staff - an eclectic fusion of Western and African cuisine and delicacies.
Following breakfast, the honeymoon couple will fly to the Okavango Delta from a nearby airstrip. The accommodation for the next three nights is Eagle Island Lodge. Sandwiched on Xaxaba Island between the reeds and waterways of the delta, this slice of African Eden is generously remote and luxurious. Encircled by a lofty throng of Ilala palms and overlooking a lush lagoon, Eagle Island is truly one of the most romantic locations in Southern Africa.
Game viewing in the delta comprises meeting the wondrous creatures and colorful birds that reside in the channels via mokoro canoe or motorized boat. Spend your evenings supping on signature cocktails at the lodge’s Fish Eagle Bar and spoil your senses with scrumptious meals under a star-scattered African sky.
A last morning game activity is followed by breakfast after which guests board a light charter to Maun and, from there, an onward flight to Johannesburg. Guests are met upon arrival at O R Tambo International in Johannesburg. From here guests are transferred to any location of their choice in either Johannesburg or Pretoria or assisted with a check-in to a flight back to their country of origin after a memorable 10 Day Vic Falls and Botswana Honeymoon.
