A tour that is ideal for avid golfers with minimal time who wish to enjoy both safari game drives and rounds of golf in South Africa.
Guests are met upon arrival at O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg by an African Sky guide. The golf tour then travels west toward the Sun City Resort , home to two of South Africa’s finest courses both designed by golf legend Gary Player. En route to Sun City, guests will enjoy a visit to the Pilanesberg Game Reserve, located where the Kalahari and Lowveld biomes meet, creating what is known as ‘bushveld’. This unique landscape is home to the Big Five and a wealth of wildlife that may be encountered during the midday safari. Guests arrive at their overnight accommodation in the illustrious Palace Hotel in the late afternoon.
The morning is devoted to playing on one of South Africa's finest golf courses. Gary Player has lent his design prowess to more than 325 courses across five continents, but only this particular course bears his name. The magnificent parkland-style course is one of the longest in the country, reaching almost 7000m, and is considered one of the most challenging golf courses in the Southern Hemisphere. The afternoon is spent at leisure, providing guests with the opportunity to enjoy the Sun City Resort’s plethora of entertainment options. Cool off in the Valley of the Waves water-park, try your luck in the casino or head back to Pilanesberg for another exciting safari experience – the choice is yours.
Tee off on the unique desert-style Lost City Golf Course this morning. The Gary Player-designed course is home to a water hazard with a collection of crocodiles, which makes for a truly exhilarating round. Following a gratifying game of golf, guests are welcome to enjoy lunch at one of the resort’s myriad restaurants before being met by their transfer and subsequently being transferred to O.R. Tambo or to any other location of your choice in either Pretoria or Johannesburg.
