Guests will be met and welcomed at Cape Town International Airport and transferred to Ocean View House, situated only a few minutes' walk from the powdery white beach of Camps Bay. This is where the 14 Day Cape and Wildlife Honeymoon truly begins. Honeymooners may dine out on the deck under the watchful eyes of the Twelve Apostles and Lion's Head, all the while enjoying panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Four nights are set aside for the honeymooners to explore one of South Africa's most beautiful cities. Table Mountain , the V&A Waterfront, Robben Island and numerous world class restaurants are but a few of the wonderful activities on offer.
After breakfast in Cape Town, guests are transferred to the Cape winelands town of Franschhoek. En route your guide will stop at two fine wineries located around the town of Stellenbosch. Here some insight into the wine making process in South Africa will be provided by a local expert. You will also have the opportunity to sample some of South Africa's finest wines. Three nights are spent in Franschhoek on a bed and breakfast basis. The quaint town set amongst imposing mountains offers a host of entertainment activities. These include many award-winning restaurants, art galleries, antique shops as well as outdoor activities like hiking, horse riding and mountain biking. The vineyards and cellars in the region offer some of the finest wine tasting in South Africa.
After a delicious breakfast,guests are transferred to Cape Town International Airport for a flight to O R Tambo in Johannesburg. Guests are met by their guide and continue on to the Mpumalanga province, passing through the towns of Witbank and Belfast en route to Dullstroom. Before reaching Dullstroom, a visit is made to the Bird of Prey & Rehabilitation Centre . The couple will then move on to Dullstroom and their overnight accommodations at Critchley Hackle. Built in pointed stone around a garden lake, the setting is both unique and breathtaking. The interior of the lodge is decorated with beautiful original antiques and paintings. Here the honeymooners may sip a vintage wine in the bar or enjoy fine dining by candlelight. Two nights are spent at Critchley Hackle and activities available include swimming in the refreshing pool, trout fishing, trap shooting and falconry demonstrations.
Guests are collected after breakfast and the honeymoon travels to the world-renowned Sabi Sand Game Reserve . Guests are assisted with check-in at Elephant Plains lodge, situated on the banks of the Manyeleti River. Honeymooners will enjoy unforgettable sunrise and sunset views across the African plains. The pool deck overlooks a waterhole which attracts numerous wild animals during the course of the day. Two game drives and an optional bush walk are conducted daily.
During the late afternoon drive, a stop is made at a carefully selected spot and sundowners while relishing an African sunset. From here the night drive continues, using spotlights to search for nocturnal animals like lion, leopard, hyena and others. After the drive guests return to the lodge for a superb dinner under African skies. Guests spend four nights at Elephant Plains on a full board basis, with two game drives and bush walks included daily.
A last morning game drive and breakfast are followed by a transfer to a local airstrip for a flight to Johannesburg, bringing an end to a 14 Day Cape and Wildlife honeymoon experience that will stay with you for a lifetime.
