After meeting guests in Cape Town, we travel into the Cape Winelands to Stellenbosch, founded in 1679 and widely regarded as South Africa’s next-oldest settlement after Cape Town. On arrival, enjoy time in the historic town centre, known for oak-lined streets, water furrows, and well-preserved Cape Dutch–style architecture. We pause for photos and short walks near key heritage streets and squares, with your private guide sharing context on how the fertile Eerste River valley helped shape Stellenbosch’s early farming and wine culture.
We then continue into the surrounding vineyards for a curated tasting experience at two selected estates on the Stellenbosch Wine Routes, South Africa’s oldest wine route, launched in 1971. Your guide can help tailor the pace and tasting style to your preferences, with time for a cellar-style introduction, scenic vineyard viewpoints, and optional lunch (time permitting). In the late afternoon, we return to Cape Town, with drop-off at your chosen location.
