Overview

The Plettenberg Bay Golf Club was upgraded by architect Rob O’Friell in 2000, adding many bunkers, slopes and water features and, as such, establishing a challenging local course that remains pleasing to the eye. The parklands-style play may not provide the world-class experience of the more distinguished clubs in the Garden Route, but the occasion is nonetheless enjoyable and rewarding, and the course has been designed to USGA specifications.  The striking surroundings are what make the practice worthwhile.

A golf tour of the Garden Route offers a wealth of exciting additional activities, such as Knysna’s spectacular Featherbed Nature Reserve, the Elephant Sanctuary and the wonderful stretch of fine swimming beaches that line the shores of the Indian Ocean. Further inland beyond the breathtaking Outeniqua Pass, the Little Karoo town of Oudtshoorn offers even more exciting possibilities, such as the Cango Caves, Cango Wildlife Ranch and ostrich farm tours.
