Gomo Gomo Game Lodge is situated in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, which shares an unfenced boundary with the Kruger National Park. The privacy and exclusivity of Gomo Gomo Lodge makes it one of the best destinations for a South African safari. The area in which Gomo Gomo operates covers 6 000 hectares of pristine Big Five country, with an abundance of other mammals and bird species.

The lodge accommodates its guests in rustic, fully furnished brick and thatch chalets with en suite facilities. There are eight chalets in total, sleeping between two and four guests. Meals are served in the thatched dining room overlooking a watering hole, where one might just be spoilt with an animal encounter while enjoying breakfast and lunch. Dinners are served in the boma, where a roaring bushveld fire adds to the safari experience.

Guests at Gomo Gomo Lodge can relax in the swimming pool during the day or on the patio in the shade of a century-old tree. Game drives in open game viewing vehicles are conducted in the morning, afternoon and evening, during which your professional and knowledgeable guide will explain and interpret animal behavior, enriching your safari experience.

Guests will be transferred to Klaserie Private Game Reserve following their arrival at Hoedspruit via Johannesburg's O R Tambo International Airport for their safari. This safari package offers wildlife encounters by both vehicle and foot, with the reserve's fenceless Kruger National Park boundary promising an exciting backdrop for Big Five spectacles. One of the three game drives a day may afford guests a glimpse of a rare white lion.

Alternatively, contemplate herds of elephant bathing in the dam from your own seat in the lodge's sparkling deck pool. Familiarize yourself with the belt of the bushveld during the optional daily safari walk. Kick back with a signature cocktail at sunset for a pre-dinner treat, then relish an African evening under the stars with a tasty dish around the fire.

Riaan's Review

Gomo Gomo offers the best value of any private lodge in one of South Africa's premier Big Five areas. The lodge is very comfortable and the safari activities in the area second to none. The fact that the lodge overlooks a permanent waterhole provides exceptional game viewing, particularly from the lodge's viewing deck during the dry winter months.
