7 Day Southern Mozambique Luxury Beach Vacation

Once you’ve arrived in Johannesburg and cleared customs and immigration, you’ll find a representative from African Sky waiting as you enter the arrivals hall. After a brief welcome, we’ll take care of formalities. You’ll then be escorted to the appropriate departure terminal and assisted with boarding a regional flight to Maputo in Mozambique. On arrival, the White Pearl Resorts team will meet you and transfer you south along the coast to Ponta Mamoli, a protected stretch of shoreline known for its dunes, coastal forest, and warm Indian Ocean waters.

You typically reach the lodge around lunchtime and are assisted with check-in before settling into your suite. White Pearl blends barefoot beach style with polished service, offering sea views, decks, and easy access to the sand and pools. During your stay you’ll enjoy three meals daily and a selection of included activities, from ocean safaris and snorkeling to gentle walks along the beach. This first afternoon is usually kept unstructured so you can unpack, breathe in the sea air, and ease into the relaxed rhythm of Southern Mozambique’s coast.

Over the next five days you can choose how active or laid-back you’d like your time at White Pearl to be. The resort’s signature ocean safaris head out to a nearby reef, where there is the chance to encounter bottlenose dolphins and, in season, migrating humpback whales passing along the coast. Snorkeling from the boat or the beach reveals colorful reef fish and healthy coral in warm, clear water. On land, guided beach walks reveal the fragile dune ecosystem, and you may notice tracks from nesting sea turtles during the summer months. Between activities, the pool deck, loungers, and shaded daybeds invite long, lazy hours with a book or drink in hand.

White Pearl also offers a range of additional experiences at extra cost, such as scuba diving on offshore pinnacles, spa treatments, and horse riding along the wide, uncrowded beach. In partnership with regional conservation programs, the lodge supports monitoring of loggerhead and leatherback turtles that nest along this coastline between roughly November and February, and turtle-focused activities may be available in season. After a final unhurried morning, perhaps with one more walk along the beach or last swim in the warm Indian Ocean, you’ll enjoy breakfast at the lodge and complete check-out formalities. The White Pearl team will then transfer you back to Maputo, retracing the coastal road through rural settlements and coastal bush to Mozambique’s capital. Depending on your flight schedule, there may be a little time in Maputo before you proceed to the airport for departure.

At Maputo International Airport you will check in for your regional flight back to Johannesburg. As your aircraft climbs over the coastline, you’ll have a last look at the lagoon and dune system that framed your week of rest and adventure. On arrival in Johannesburg, your beach vacation officially comes to a close, but the easy rhythm of Southern Mozambique, its long empty beaches, and memories of dolphins, turtles, and warm evenings under the stars are likely to linger long after you return home.
