Franschhoek Country House & Villas is tucked away just outside the charming French Huguenot town.
Franschhoek Country House & Villas is situated on the outskirts of the small town of Franschhoek, about an hour’s drive from Cape Town. The picturesque town of Franschhoek truly captures the essence of the Cape winelands. Set amidst the majestic Drakenstein mountains, the valley is littered with vineyards and, in the center of all this, stands the town itself. The high-quality wines and cuisine pay homage to the French Huguenots that settled in this area more than 300 years ago. Franschhoek Country House & Villas is deeply rooted in this historic town as the building can be traced back to 1890, when it was a manor house and since then also a perfumery.
Franschhoek Country House & Villas offers fourteen luxury rooms and twelve Villa Suites. The luxury rooms are divided into Standard Rooms, Luxury Rooms and Garden Cottages. All the rooms have luxurious amenities such as complimentary WiFi, air conditioning, in room safes, private balconies, flat screen televisions, 39 satellite channels, mini bars, tea and coffee stations and, of course, en suite bathrooms. The Standard and Luxury Rooms offers lavish accommodations featuring lounge areas and private balconies or patios, with the Luxury Rooms being slightly larger than the Standard Rooms. The double-story Garden Cottages feature extravagant upstairs lounges with views to match, and en suite downstairs bedrooms with private patios and gardens. Fold-out beds can be arranged for small children in the lounge area of the cottage.
The spacious Villa Suites offer unmatched indulgence, stretching to a total of one-hundred square meters each. The large bedroom, bathroom, lounge and two private balconies are arguably the best accommodation to enjoy the surrounding country side in. The bathrooms have stand-alone bathtubs, granite tops with his and hers basins, and underfloor heating. The Villa Suites also have all the luxury amenities of the rooms and more. The lounge even has a cozy fire place.
The ultimate dining experience can be enjoyed at the in-house Monneaux Restaurant. Not only has the restaurant been on the top 100 list of restaurants in the country for six consecutive years, but also on the top 10 list of restaurants for two years. The elegant ambience, delicious gourmet food and wide variety of world-renowned local and international wines lay testament to all these achievements. An underground cellar is also available for private functions.
