South Africa is a well-developed country with good primary road infrastructure. The secondary road infrastructure is, however, not always up to standard. When traveling in South Africa, shops, banks and other necessary services are readily available. Credit cards are accepted almost everywhere, which should limit the need to carry large amounts of cash with you. You should, however, always have some cash in the local currency with you, as it might come in handy at some places.
