An all encompassing self drive experience in South Africa, with most of the top destinations visited. The self drive tour starts in Pretoria from where it travels to the Mpumalanga Highlands before venturing on to the Kruger National Park, where two nights are spent in Satara and two nights in Skukuza. Guests then travel on to Swaziland before experiencing Hluhluwe in Zululand. Then it is on to the Garden Route town of Knysna which is used as a base from which to explore the area before travelling to Cape Town, the South African mother city set beneath the protection of Table Mountain. |

Detailed Self Drive Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Pretoria
Clients are met upon arrival at Johannesburg International( O. R. Tambo) Airport by a representative of African Sky Safaris and Tours who presents them with their self drive tour itinerary, a map book of South Africa as well as a GPS on which a suggested route has been pre programmed. The locations of the suggested activities and places of interest we suggest in this itinerary are also logged in the GPS. At this time clients are also presented with accommodation and other relevant vouchers which they will require on their self drive tour.
The Representative spends an hour with guests going over the route and offering suggestions and advice. All members of the African Sky Team have years of experience in conducting tours and safaris in South and Southern Africa. He or she should be able to answer any questions clients might have regarding their self drive holiday. The representative then assists them with collecting their rental car after which clients embark on their self drive holiday of South Africa.
Guests will overnight at the Lombardy Hotel in Pretoria. Guests can enjoy the peace and authenticity of an Italian village, fine cuisine and lush beautiful gardens.

Day 2-3: Mpumalanga Highlands
Guests will travel through the beautiful mountainous countryside of Mpumalanga to Mount Sheba Country Lodge sleepily tucked away amongst the mountains above the historic mining town of Pilgrims Rest. Surrounded by indigenous forests guests can enjoy some of Mpumalanga's superb tourist attractions including 'God's Window', the Blyde River Canyon and Bourke's Luck Potholes.

Day 4-5: Central Kruger National Park
Crossing over the Eastern Escarpment guests make their way to world renowned Kruger National Park where two nights are spent in Satara on a bed and breakfast basis. This camp is the ideal location from which to explore the central Kruger National Park which is characterized by open savannah grassland which is home to large herds of plains game animals and the predators that pursue them. |

Day 6-7: Southern Kruger National Park
After a taste of what the African bush has to offer guests will make their way to Skukuza Restcamp in Kruger National Park, a popular rest camp situated in the heart of Big Five territory. Guests can enjoy the myriad of birds and wild game in the area which is easily spotted by going on bush walks and game drives. Wildlife documentaries are shown in an outdoor amphitheater. Guests can enjoy the tranquil surroundings of the African Bush while sipping on sundowners at the end of a day of exhilarating game viewing.

Day 8: Swaziland
Guests will proceed through the beautiful mountainous countryside into the warm and friendly country of Swaziland. Guests will revel in Swaziland's most spectacularly beautiful Ezulwini Valley where they will book into the Lugogo Sun. The overnight experience of the informal yet sophisticated luxury is sure to excite the senses with the world-class restaurants, casinos and stage revues, the sub-tropical gardens and sparkling swimming pools.

Day 9-10: Hluhluwe
Your tour will now turn southwards as you make your way through Swaziland into Kwa Zulu Natal to the Hluhluwe Game Reserve for another few days of the African Bush experience. The Hilltop Camp, in the Hluhluwe Game Reserve, where guests will book into, is situated on the summit of a forested hill offering fine views of the surrounding countryside. Guests will enjoy two days of first class game viewing, game walks, birdwatching,and boat tours.

Day 11-12: Knysna
Guests will bid farewell to the African bush and drive through the lush Kwa Zulu Natal to Durban International Airport where they will catch a flight to George in the Eastern Cape.
Guests will collect their vehicle and drive to Knysna Hollow Lodge
situated in lovely gardens with a nice pool and guineas fowl and wild birds roaming.
Activities in the area are endless, from ferry trips across the lagoon, to walking trails through the ancient forests, a game of golf, Tree Top Canopy Tours, Whale and Dolphin watching, canoeing, abseiling, or just relax at one of the three sparkling swimming pools, where you can see the abundant birdlife. |

Day 12-15: Cape Town
From the Knysna tranquility guest will make their way to the trendy city of Cape Town. Guests will book into the Ambassador Hotel one of the most spectacular hotels in Cape Town. It is centrally located in Bantry Bay on the Atlantic coastline, surrounded by areas such as the Waterfront, Clifton and Camps Bay, and within close proximity to Cape Point and the botanical gardens of Kirstenbosch. Guest can savour the delights of Cape Town's V&A Waterfront, a ride in the revolving cable car up the famous Table Mountain or visit Robben Island.

Day 16: Departure
After an incredible all round South African experience
guests will finally make their way to Cape Town International Airport where they will hand over their vehicle and book onto their flight heading home.
