Highlights & What to Expect

The WILDchild program is filled with fun, interactive, and educational activities to engage youngsters in the ways of the wild.
On safari at Mountain Lodge, you can view rare wildlife, including red duikers, cheetahs, and black and white rhinoceros.
Daily safari adventures from the lodge include open 4x4 game drives and bush walks led by expert nature guides.
Zulu cultural experiences will provide insight into the traditions of South Africa's warrior tribe, once ruled by the legendary King Shaka.
Various ocean safaris, including seasonal sea turtle nesting, are unique and unavailable at some of the more renowned private reserves in the Greater Kruger National Park.

Location & Setting

Phinda Private Game Reserve is nestled between Mkuze Game Reserve and the iSimangaliso Wetland Park; Mountain Lodge is set on top of a hill, with views of the stunning Lebombo foothills. Forests, grassy plains, and savannahs surround Mountain Lodge. Daily scheduled flights connect the reserve directly to Johannesburg.

Rooms

Phinda Mountain Lodge has three different room types. Sixteen suites can accommodate up to two guests, six family cottages, and one family suite. All rooms include indoor and outdoor showers and a private plunge pool. Family cottages can accommodate a family of up to five. The family suite can accommodate up to four adults and four children.

Facilities

There are lounge and dining areas, a fully stocked bar, and an interactive kitchen where children can experiment and have fun. Other facilities include a wellness center with a gym and a massage sala. There is an under-the-stars dining area, lit by dozens of candles and lanterns, a large rim-flow sparkling pool, a safari shop, and a pair of complimentary state-of-the-art Swarovski telescopes for stargazing.
