Day 1- 3: Okavango Delta
Guests are met upon arrival at O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg or any other location of their choice in either Johannesburg or Pretoria. From here they are assisted with check in to a flight bound for Maun in Botswana from where a charter flight flies guests to the heart of the Okavango Delta. The Okavango Delta is one of the most remote and unique wilderness areas in the world. During the peak of the flooding the delta’s area can expand to over 16,000 square kilometers, shrinking to less than 9,000 square kilometers in the low period. As the water travels through the delta, the wildlife starts to move back into the region.
At the lodge two game activities are conducted daily by experienced rangers and trackers. The game activities alter between land based open 4X4 game drives and water based game viewing, in the multitude of channels and waterways in the Okavango Delta. The game experiences are led by experienced local rangers and trackers. The insight of the rangers and trackers into the habits and behavior of the various animals, coupled with their knowledge and understanding of the ecology and history of the region is sure to make your Okavango Delta Safari a unique and memorable experience. |

Day 4 - 6: Linyanti
A last morning safari activity in the Okavango is followed by a short charter flight to the Linyanti Safari area which lies to the north of the Okavango Delta. The Linyanti's waters weave and meander as they make their way eastward towards Chobe and along its way form a myriad of pools and lagoons which are favored by Hippos, Crocodiles and incredible bird life. These pools also attract game from the dry lands to the east, for out of the rainy season they hold the first permanent waters to be found. In the early evening, with youngsters in tow, several breeding herds of Elephant usually gather around the pools along the Linyanti to enjoy a drink and to wallow and frolic in the mud holes.
At the lodge two game activities are conducted daily by experience rangers and trackers. As with the Okavango Delta these game activities can take the form of either open 4X4 game drives or water based game viewing from either wooden canoes or motorized boats. The Linyanti is not as well known as the Okavango Delta, but this area is sure to be a highlight on any safari in Botswana for it is one of the remote and isolated of all Botswana's game viewing areas. |
