The South African Garden Route is generally regarded is the area between Mosselbay in the South and the Coastal City of Port Elizabeth in the north. The region is characterized by a coastal plain set between imposing mountain ranges and the deep blue waters of the Indian Ocean.

It is one of the highest rainfall areas in the country with both summer and winter rain occurring. The high rain fall endows the area with lush vegetation and the largest indigenous forests in South Africa are to be found in the region surrounding Knysna.

The garden route offers visitors a combination of exceptional beaches and an abundance of activities which can be enjoyed. The adventurous can attempt the highest bungee jump in the world or for those of us who are more reserved , forest walks , dolphin and whale cruises , visits to nature reserves like featherbed etc. should provide ample activity.
