Berg-en-Dal Rest Camp is located in the southern reaches of the Kruger National Park.
Berg en Dal Rest Camp in the world-renowned Kruger National Park is situated on the banks of the Matjulu Spruit. The camp is bordered by striking rocky hillsides. Berg en Dal, meaning ‘mountain and dale', was opened in 1984. It is one of the newest rest camps in the Kruger National Park. A variety of grazers are attracted by the natural Malelane mountain bushveld which surrounds the camp. Predators like leopard and wild dog are frequently spotted on safaris in the area.
The camp features a variety of accommodation options. If guests are enjoying a Kruger National Park safari with African Sky, they will typically stay in either a bungalow or one of the guest houses, depending on the makeup of the traveling party. In both cases, rooms are air-conditioned with en suite bathrooms. Although the accommodation is not luxurious, it is very comfortable and provides an ideal base from which to explore the rich natural diversity of the Kruger National Park.
Berg en Dal Rest Camp offers guided bush walks and game drives. The camp also has a restaurant, shop, internet cafe and swimming pool. Traditional dancers from various cultural backgrounds often entertain guests with their rhythmic moves and music, enhancing the safari experience.
When traveling on an overland safari from Johannesburg to Kruger, Berg en Dal is the camp which can be most easily reached. The camp offers comfortable en suite lodgings in an area of Kruger with a host of different ecosystems. Though not luxurious, your stay at this camp should be very comfortable and the safari experience highly rewarding. I have stayed at the camp on numerous occasions and have always enjoyed exceptional leopard and rhino sightings. This camp is a good choice if you wish to enjoy a three or four day safari in the Kruger National Park.Read More
