Olifants Rest Camp

Situated on the top of a hill, Olifants Camp has a remarkable picturesque platform out looking untouched terrains, with a diverse variety of wildlife in the region.

Accommodation at the Olifants Camp
There are 107 2, 3 and 4 single-roomed bungalows with en-suite bathrooms.  Some are equipped with a kitchenette.  Guests can also make use of the communal kitchen facilities. One of the bungalows is wheelchair friendly. All the bungalows are air-conditioned.

The Olifants Camp also offers 2 guest houses - Lebombo and Nshawu.  Each guest house can accommodate up to 8 guests. Facilities include a lounge, en-suite bathrooms and several exclusive sightseeing lookout decks, as well as DSTV.

Activities at Olifants Camp
Elephants, Lions, Hippopotamus and the Nile crocodile are some of the wildlife to look out for. This camp offers excellent conference facilities including overhead projector, video, slide projector, white board and flip charts. The Olifants camp also has a curio shop, grocery store, Laundromat, restaurant, petrol station, picnic areas, Post Box and Basic First Aid Assistance.

The signature of GR von Weilligh, one of the original surveyors in the area left his mark on a nearby Baobab tree dating back to 1891 that is just a short walking distance from the Camp. This Kruger National Park camp has a shaded outlook platform, game drives (morning or evening), and mountain biking trails or guided bush walks. A special game drive offering is also provided where refreshments are served in the bush at sunset, and then followed by a detailed informative program that will educate guests on the Southern Hemisphere skies and African star beliefs.

The camp also offers astronomy facilities including a large telescope to view the spectacular Southern skies. This spectacular stargazing experience will navigate you through the Southern Cross, Orion, Scorpion and the Milky Way.  The telescopes are so powerful that planets such as Saturn can be viewed in almost perfect conditions. This is leading sky viewing at its finest.
