Day 2-4: Kruger National Park
Guests have three days to explore the Kruger National Park. An early mooring start is suggested to enable you to take advantage of the cool morning hours of game sightings. You can make your way to the northern part of the central Kruger National Park. Excellent game viewing opportunities for Elephant, Zebra and Buffalo are fairly common. As with all predator-prey relationships, Tsessebe and Ostrich abound in the open scrub land and while the predators are not as common, it is still possible to get glimpses of them. This Northern Region of the park has the indigenous Mopane tree, a favourite food source for the many Elephant in this part of Kruger, mixed with taller trees such as Leadwood, Apple Leaf, Jackalberry and Nyala Trees toward the west.
During your visit to the park you can drive to Letaba rest camp where there is a museum about elephants. You can see the tusks of the magnificent seven, huge tusks of 7 elephants who once roamed Kruger. Every pair of tusks has the story about the animal.
This museum is well worth visiting. It will teach you all about this magnificent animal.
On your return to the Lodge in the evenings you can treat yourself to a Boat Safari on the Olifants River or simply relax under the African skies savoring the sounds of the evening wildlife.
