 The Northern Route Self Drive Tour visits the Pilanesberg National Park before a short drive bring guests to Sun City. Sun City is the largest resort complex on the African continent. It offers large diversity of entertainment options and is sure to be an enjoyable experience for all that visit.
After enjoyiing the delights of Sun City guests spend an evening at Mount Sheba in the Mpumalanga Highlands before traveling to the world renowned Kruger National Park. At Kruger the freedom of the self drive vehicle makes it possible for guests to determine the length of their own game drives. After enjoyiing Kruger guests travel back to Johannesburg where the vehicle is dropped of at the Airport. |

Bookings confirmed with a deposit more than six months in advance are subject to a discount of 5%. |

Self Drive Tour Itinerary |

Day 1: Pilanesberg National Park
Clients are met upon arrival at Johannesburg International( O. R. Tambo) Airport by a representative of African Sky Safaris and Tours who presents them with their self drive tour itinerary, a map book of South Africa as well as a GPS on which a suggested route has been pre programmed. The locations of the suggested activities and places of interest we suggest in this itinerary are also logged in the GPS. At this time clients are also presented with accommodation and other relevant vouchers which they will require on their self drive tour.
The Representative spends an hour with guests going over the route and offering suggestions and advice. All members of the African Sky Team have years of experience in conducting tours and safaris in South and Southern Africa. He or she should be able to answer any questions clients might have regarding their self drive holiday. The representative then assists them with collecting their rental car after which clients embark on their self drive holiday of South Africa. Guests then make their way to the Bakubung Bush Lodge set in the magnificent wild life sanctuary of the Pilanesberg National park.

Day 2: Pilanesberg National Park
Game drives and bush walks are part of the leisure and wildlife experience at the lodge and qualified field guides accompany guests either on foot or in open-air vehicles as they explore the untamed bush. The Pilanesberg Game Reserve is home to Africa's giants - elephants, rhino and buffalo. If you're fortunate, you may catch a glimpse of the stealthy leopard or lion, stately king of the bush.Two game drives are included daily at Bakubung Lodge.

Day 3-5: Sun City
After the Big Game thrill you can make your way to the thrill of a Big Win in the Sun City Resort Casino. Guests will book into the Sun City Cabanas and can then access the many delights of this incredibly exhilarating resort. The Sun City resort is a dazzling experience with its glamorous casinos, gourmet restaurants, extensive sports facilities and star-studded spectaculars, a games arcade for children; horseriding, golf; the Valley of Waves and The Lost City, which all makes for a breath taking experience. |

Day 6: Mpumalanga Highlands
Guests make their way to the tranquil setting of Mount Sheba the perfect holiday getaway resting majestically above the historic town of Pilgrim's Rest. The town of Pilgrims Rest was declared a National Monument in 1986. The town was born during the infamous Gold Rush.
It is worthwhile to spend some time here stepping back in history to the Gold rush days. Refreshments are available at the
cafes and restaurants. There are many craft shops and stalls throughout the town. Mount Sheba is in close proximity to the famous and breathtaking Blyde River Canyon and God's Window to name a few. Mount Sheba also boasts an abundant bird life.

Day 7-9: Kruger National Park
The time has come to enter into the big game country of the Kruger National Park. Guests will check into the Skukuza camp. From here guests will be able to take game drives into the park from early in the morning.
Skukuza Camp is an excellent rest camp from which to pursue the Big Five and birds in the vicinity. Lions are frequently spotted along this route. At night, look for the Fruit Bat that hangs under the eaves of the shop, and the Thick-tailed Bush Baby climbing the trees in search of gum. After three days of reveling in sightings of the myriad of birds and wild game in the area either on bush walks or game drives guests also have the opportunity to have a round of golf on the magnificent 9 hole (18-tee), Par 72 golf course.

Day 10: Departure
After breakfast guests can make their way back through the beautiful Mpumalanga area to O.R. Tambo airport where they will hand over their vehicle and book onto their flight heading home.
