The Etosha Safari is a four day fly in African safari experience which visits the Etosha National Park in Namibia. The safari departs from and returns to Johannesburg.

At Ongava Lodge two game drives are included on open 4X4 vehicles daily. The Game drives are conducted by an experienced ranger and tracker. Meals are included on a full board basis.The Etosha National Park is Namibia's primary conservation area and is roughly the size of Switzerland

African Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Etosha Safari - Guided by Resident Ranger Guests are met at O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg where they are assisted with check in to a flight bound for Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia. Guests are met at Windhoek airport and are assisted in transferring to their charter flight bound for Etosha. Etosha National Park is a place of contrast, taking on a different complexion after heavy summer rains and attracting one of the most impressive flamingo migrations that one is likely to see. The dry brittle vegetation turns a soft green, the animal breeding season begins and for a few months the flat landscape that the Ovambo call the ‘place of great white spaces’ sheds its arid image. The late afternoon is devoted to a first open 4X4 safari accompanied by an experienced ranger and tracker.

Day 2: Etosha Safari - Guided by Resident Ranger The day is devoted to an early morning and late afternoon 4X4 safari accompanied by your experienced ranger and tracker.Due to the predictability of game concentrations, Etosha is not only one of the most popular parks in southern Africa, it also has an exceptionally high proportion of predators to herbivores. This offers visitors an excellent chance of witnessing thrilling confrontations between lion and zebra, springbok, impala and wildebeest.

Day 3: Etosha Safari - Guided by Resident Ranger The day is once again devoted to exploring the area from the back of open 4X4 vehicles. Etosha National Park is widely regarded as one of the best game reserves in Africa to closely observe a startling diversity of animal and bird life. Game viewing is excellent because wildlife is forced to congregate around the park’s water holes for much of the year and there is little vegetation to obstruct one’s view. This makes the area popular with photographers intent on capturing awesome wildlife images.

Day 4: Departure - Guided by Resident Ranger
A last morning game drive is followed by a flight to Windhoek and from there an onward connection to Johannesburg. Guests are met upon arrival at O.R. Tambo international in Johannesburg and are transferred to any location of their choice in either Johannesburg or Pretoria.
