The Makgadikgadi Pans are the world’s largest salt pans and are the remnants of a vast lake that existed in Botswana millions of years ago.

Guests spend three nights at Jack's Camp on a bed and breakfast basis. Two activities are included daily. These range from quad biking on the pans to experiencing the signs of the area in the company of a bushman tracker as well as enjoying the antics of a meerkat family as their behavior and social patterns are closely watched. During the wet season the pans host hundreds of thousands of flamingo that visit the pans to lay their eggs and hatch their young.

The area is roughly 15 000 square Kilometers in size. Mombo is located on Chiefs Island, the largest land mass in the delta which is roughly 1000 square kilometers in extent. The Island boasts some of the finest game viewing in Botswana and was named in honor of Chief Moremi, who used to hunt the area.
