The four day Private Lodge Safari is a Kruger National Park safari experience at the Elephant Plains Private Game Reserve. Elephant Plains in part of the Sabi Sand which in turn froms part of the Greater Kruger Nationl Park.

At Elephant Plains two open 4X4 safaris are conducted daily by experienced rangers and trackers. Meals are included on a full board basis. Elephant Plains Private Lodge offers a luxury safari experience at a very reasonable price.

Kruger National Park Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Sabi Sand - Elephant Plains Lodge Guests are met at any location of their choice in Johannesburg from where they are transferred to the airport for a flight to the Elephant Plains Private Game Reserve which forms part of the Sabi Sand which in turn is part of the Greater Kruger National Park. At Elephant plains the late afternoon is devoted to a open 4X4 safari in search of the Big Five. Around sunset a the vehicle stops at a remote location where sundowners are enjoyed overlooking one of Africa’s premier wildlife areas.

Day 2: Sabi Sand - Elephant Plains Lodge The day is devoted to two open 4X4 safaris in the company of your experienced ranger and tracker. The size of the land which is accessed on the safaris is approximately 4000 Ha which lies in the northern corner of the Sabi Sand. Animal sightings are exceptional in this region and guests are assured of seeing at least four of the Big Five on the four day safari at Elephant Plains. It would not be uncommon to see all five.

Day 3: Sabi Sand - Elephant Plains Lodge A sky colored gloriously by the rising sun greets guests on an early morning game drive, admiring the antelope of Africa as they ready themselves for a day of grazing or browsing after the nervousness of night, when they are at their most vulnerable to the many predators in the area. Highlights of the day are sure to include sightings of one or more of the Big Five. The Rhino, Lion, Leopard, Buffalo and Elephant received this well known collective name in times past when the first European Hunters in Africa regarded them to be the most dangerous animals on the continent. A game drive conducted during the late afternoon and early evening could offer the opportunity of spotting one of the Big Cats, readying themselves for the hunt. Both the Leopard and Lion are nocturnal and would mostly be more active during this period of the day.

Day 4: Departure A last morning game drive in the Sabi Sand is followed by a late breakfast after which guests are transferred to the airstrip for a flight to Johannesburg. Guests are met in Johannesburg and are transferred to any location of their choice in the city after a memorable safari experience in one of South Africa’s finest safari areas.
