The Pass is named after an old cannon used in the Anglo Boer War and referred to as the Long Tom. From the crest of Mount Anderson look down 1,000 meters to South Africa's largest man made forest.
Stops are then made at Gods Window with its sweeping views of the Lowveld Region as well as the Triplet peaks of the Three Rondavels, one of the most scenic views of the Blyde River Canyon., third largest of all the worlds canyons. Day 7-9: Cape Town
Guests are met after breakfast from where this day of your South African Honeymoon is devoted to exploring the Cape Winelands. The stark contrast between vineyards and harsh mountains create the perfect backdrop to a tour of the historical town of Stellenbosch. The town is the oldest in South Africa after Cape Town, and is undoubtedly the most scenic and historically-preserved town in Southern Africa. Oak-lined streets next to water furrows compliment the many fine examples of elegant Cape Dutch, Victorian and Georgian architecture - all part of this unique "Town of Oaks".
The town, ideally situated in a magnificent mountain valley, boasts a mild Mediterranean climate. The Stellenbosch Wine route is the oldest, largest, and probably the most visited of the Southwest Cape’s wine routes. Many of the estates are very old, their gabled, whitewashed Cape Dutch Homesteads, rolling vineyards and shade-dappled grounds lovely beyond measure. We visit two of these fine estates where the art of wine making in South Africa is experience first hand. A large variety of cultivars can be sampled and a specific cultivars which appeals to your palette is sure to be found.
During the late afternoon we reach the overnight destination set in Camps Bay one of Cape Towns most attractive suburbs. Camps bay is nestled between the ocean and the rigid mountains which characterize the western Cape. Atholl House is set within walking distance of the beach and the shopping and entertainment options in Camps Bay. Guests spend three nights here with breakfast included daily.
