Detailed Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Pilanesberg
Guests will be met at O.R. Tambo and transferred by road to Bakubung Game Lodge in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve. The malaria-free Pilanesberg National Park ranks among the largest national parks in southern Africa. The park is 55.000 hectares in extent. It is almost perfectly circular because it comprises the area of a 1200 million years old volcano crater with a small lake in the centre. This very scenic terrain lies in the transition zone between Kalahari and Lowveld, and both types of vegetation are found here. Pilanesberg boasts a large population of Lion, Leopard, Black and White Rhino, Elephant and Buffalo and a wide variety of rare and common species like the nocturnal Brown Hyaena, the fleet-footed.Cheetah, the majestic Sable, Giraffe, Zebra, Hippo and Crocodile and other animals. An evening game drive will be enjoyed followed by a delicious African dinner next to an open crackling fire.

Day 2- 4: Pilanesberg
Guests will experience three days of game drives and bush walks with qualified field guides accompanying guests either on foot or in open-air vehicles as they explore the untamed bush. To finish off the day guest’s can share their wildlife experiences at a blazing campfire, while marveling the star studded African sky and surrounded by the sounds of the bush in the exclusive Boma Lapa of the resort. Guests can also find solitude by sitting and relaxing on their patio and watch the hippos in the lodges' hippo pool or enjoy the facilities at nearby Sun City.

Day 4-7: Madikwe
After the early morning game drive and breakfast guests will be transferred to Madikwe Safari Lodge situated in Madikwe Game Reserve, another of South Africa's malaria-free wildlife sanctuaries. This luxurious lodge offers guests intimate accommodation with sweeping views over the game-filled plains with the Dwarsberg range as backdrop. Famed for Operation Phoenix, the world’s largest game translocation exercise with the introduction of more than 8 000 animals, guests can look forward to the sights and sounds of the wild whilst tracking Big Five game and other endangered species, or enjoy a thrilling night drive. Guests will be taken daily on two game drives and a bush walk with experienced trackers who will share their extensive knowledge with you of both the vegetation and the prolific animal life.
Overlooking Madikwe’s game-filled plains, intimate sitting areas in shaded outdoor covered decks are available to guests.. There are plentiful fireplaces both inside and outdoors with pizza ovens for fun dining, book-filled libraries and a unique safari shop. A covered outdoor living room offers beanbags and cushions on the floor for casual relaxation.

Day 8: Departure
On return from the morning game drive guests will enjoy a breakfast then bid this African haven farewell. Guests will be transferred to O.R. Tambo Airport and assisted with their bookings.
