Xugana Island Lodge is situated on the Xugana Lagoon, in Botswana's Okavango Delta. The Okavango Delta is a permanent oasis, with the Okavango River never running into the sea ,but instead flowing over the Kalahari Desert. Great numbers of animals and birds call this spectacular landscape home during different times of the year. The lodge is the only Okavango Delta Safari Lodge in Botswana that offers transfers between lodges on a powerboat.
At this Okavango Delta Safari Lodge guests are accommodated in eight reed and thatched chalets facing the Xugana Lagoon. The chalets are raised form the ground on wooden platforms and are shaded through the day by leafy trees. Each en suite bathroom is equipped with the basic necessities ensuring a comfortable stay.
In an open Boma and dining area guests enjoy exquisite cuisine with views over the Xugana Lagoon and Okavango Delta. The lounge, bar and dining areas are open sided buildings , situated under giant Ebony and Mangosteen trees. The swimming pool is situated in a beautiful garden, the perfect place to take in the essence of Africa and relax. Motorboat and canoe game drives are conducted, exploring the delta. Alternatively, guided nature walks take guests through the delta on foot.
