Xakanaxa Camp is set in Botswana’s Okavango Delta Safari area. The camp is one of the few camps that offer a year round Okavango Delta land and water experience, with boat cruises and game drives. With river forests, open savannah, seasonal floodplain's, permanent lagoons and the Okavango Delta channel, the camp is surrounded by water and beauty. Xakanaxa Camp was on of the first safari camps in Botswana.

Keeping the original African theme, Xakanaxa ensures a comfortable stay in twelve safari tents on elevated platforms. The tents are situated right on the bank of the Khwai River and a private viewing deck offers spectacular views of the Xakanaxa Lagoon. Each room is en-suite and has a sprinkler system that creates a cooling effect.

Decorated in the same African theme as the tents, the main lodge extends into the Khwai River, and surrounding decks ensure fantastic views. The building consists of a lounge, dining room and a small library. Under big Jackal berry trees is a fireplace where guests can socialize at night, with a roaring fire setting the mood. Guests can unwind in the plunge pool or just do nothing in the lazy ‘sala’ at Xakanaxa Camp.

This area is considered to be one of Africa’s finest game viewing areas. The game drives follow trough a variety of vegetation trough mopane forests and across lush grasslands, constantly passing waterways. Sometimes the waterways can be crossed by vehicles and other times guests make use of rustic log bridges. Boat trips on the lagoon offer another view of a different kind of vegetation, and leads into the sinuous channels of the Delta, which is considered to be one of Africa’s natural wonders. Enjoy the breeding of the migrant birds in the spring and summer time, as well as fishing.
