Tshukudu Lodge is set in the crater of an extinct volcano in the malaria-free Pilanesberg Game Reserve. The park is adjacent to the famous Sun City Resort. Pilanesberg is set around a beautiful, large lake called the Mankwe Dam, meaning 'place of the Leopard', and the impressive landscape consists of rocky outcrops, open grasslands and wooded valley thickets. The luxurious Tshukudu Bush Lodge, which is the Tswana word for rhinoceros, is built on a hilltop, with spectacular views of the Pilanesberg Game Reserve.
Luxury and comfort come together in the six luxury suites at Tshukudu Lodge. Each suite has its own private balcony with magnificent views of the bushveld. The cottages consist of a bedroom, en-suite bathroom and open plan lounge, with a fireplace to create a warm atmosphere when relaxing. Guests can take a bath or shower while looking out over the plain far below.
Tshukudu can only be accessed by a shuttle running between the lodge and Bakubung Bush Lodge. Enjoy the cool water of the rock plunge pool for relaxation. At night the lodge's guests join together, around a blazing campfire, for a marvellous dinner, accompanied by a selection of wines found on the premises.
Tshukudu Lodge provides quests with daily open vehicle game drives, in search of the legendary big five and many other astonishing game, like the nocturnal brown hyena, cheetah, hippo, crocodile and even cable. A variety of bird species may also be observed in this wonderful wilderness. As Sun City is close by, guests may enjoy taking the shuttle service there for a day of fun. |
