Savute Elephant Camp is a Chobe Safari Lodge. Chobe is famous for its high concentration of elephants and therefore Savute Elephant Camp gets its name from the parks largest inhabitants. Savute is an area with very little rainfall and water is precious. The Savute Elephant Camp is situated on the now dry Savute Channel and has a water hole close to the camp, where elephants come to cool down during the hot days.
This Chobe Safari Lodge is situated in an oasis type setting, twelve luxurious tents form the accommodation at Savute Elephant Camp. Each tent has an en-suite bedroom with a four poster bed and a mosquito net. They also have air-conditioning, a mini bar and a small safe. The tents are raised on wooden platforms and have a wooden deck, where guests can relax on easy chairs and hammocks.
Dinner can be served in the traditional Savute Boma. The boma used to be a meeting place for tribal members, and traditional foods were served before or after these meetings. Therefore guests experience culture and nature, under a canvas of stars when dining in the Boma. A covered dining area and lounge are also options for dinner time. For relaxation guests can laze around in the pool, shop in the curio shop or visit the library.
