Kulala Wilderness Reserve is the closest reserve to Sossusvlei with its gigantic dunes and open skies. Located in a prime location in this reserve is Little Kulala, luxury Sossusvlei Lodge. To the north of Little Kulala is Namibia’s mountain escarpment and in between these giant mountains and Sossusvlei, are verdant plains. With similar design features to Kulala Desert Lodge, it is smaller and lies on the Auab Riverbed.
The Lodge offers 11 air-conditioned, thatched villas, Little Kulala offers ultimate luxury in the magnificent Namib Desert. Each villa has a private plunge pool on the deck, where guests can cool off when the days or evenings get too hot. The roofs of the villas are flat and bedrolls are provided so guests can lie and appreciate the star studded sky. The villas also have an inside and outside shower, providing the opportunity to take a shower under a canopy of stars.
Complementing the desert, the main lodge is decorated in neutral colors, with texture and natural lightning. The main area has a library, lounge and dining area where exquisite cuisine is served. A wine cellar with a fine selection of wines and a crafts boutique, for a souvenir or two, are also in the main area. Guided game drives are offered into Sossusvlei, with its giant, red dunes, and guided game drives and guided walks are conducted in the Kulala Wilderness Reserve each day.
