Lion Sands River Lodge is built on the banks of the Sabie River, bringing thirsty animals and bird life that much closer to the guest.   Facing east, Lion Sands River Lodge is greeted each morning with the sun rising over the Kruger National Park.

Lion Sands River Lodge consists of 18 luxury thatched rooms with their own en-suite bathroom.  The rooms are decorated in cream and beige, complementing the bushveld colours.  Each room has its own private indoor and outdoor shower.  When relaxing in camp, the rooms offer guests their own viewing deck from which to observe the animal and bird life around the river.  All 18 suites are connected by wooden walkways, raised from the ground.   The rooms are equipped with air-conditioning and overhead fans.

Lion Sands River Lodge offers numerous facilities for relaxation.  Guests can enjoy a delicious cocktail in the private lounge or bar area, or enjoy the fresh air in the out door safari lounge.  To cool off on summer days, guests can choose between two swimming pools, which are heated in the winter months. Game can be viewed from the wooden decks or guests can visit the secluded bird hide at this luxury lodge. There is also the magnificent River Island deck, built on the river which brings guests closer to animals coming in for a drink of water during the late afternoon.  Guests can book their massages at the Lalamuka Health Spa or build up a sweat in the gym.  At night guests enjoy dinner inside or outside, at the Boma, beside a log fire under the stars.

As the Lion Sands River Lodge is located in the Sabi Sand Reserve, you are always ensured of great safaris with lots to see, as this is the area with the greatest diversity of wildlife in Africa. This may be experienced on either game drives twice daily or on guided safari walks. At night the game drives are held by spotlight, so visitors may enjoy viewing al the nocturnal animals’ activities and behaviour at night. Guests can be certain to enjoy lots of game viewing in this part of the reserve.
